Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Tally Man to join our logistics and shipping team in Murrieta. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for accurately counting, verifying, and recording incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring all documentation matches physical inventory. You will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of our inventory and facilitating smooth operations within our fast-paced distribution center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately count and verify all incoming and outgoing goods against shipping manifests, purchase orders, and other documentation.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages immediately to supervisors.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of all tallied items, utilizing both manual and digital systems.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of trucks and containers, ensuring proper handling of freight.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, drivers, and administrative personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during all operations.
  • Organize and prepare shipping documents, labels, and other necessary paperwork.
  • Participate in periodic inventory counts and audits as required.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or shipping environment.
  • Proficiency in basic arithmetic and data entry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and labels.
  • Good physical stamina, capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Forklift certification or experience operating pallet jacks.
  • Experience with inventory management software or scanners.
  • Knowledge of common shipping procedures and terminology (e.g., BOL, manifest, freight classes).
