Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Telehealth Nurse to join our 100% remote team. In this critical role, you will provide virtual triage, health education, and support to patients via phone and video calls. You will be instrumental in assessing patient symptoms, providing professional advice, and coordinating care without the need for in-person visits. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse to leverage their clinical skills in a flexible, home-based environment, contributing to improved patient access and care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive virtual patient assessments and triage patient calls to determine the appropriate level of care.
- Provide evidence-based health information, education, and advice to patients on various health conditions, medications, and self-care strategies.
- Utilize clinical judgment to guide patients through health concerns, including symptom management and urgent care needs.
- Document all patient interactions accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and medication management as needed.
- Educate patients on preventative health measures and chronic disease management.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with telehealth best practices and nursing standards.
Required Skills
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho (or compact state license eligible for Idaho endorsement).
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in emergency room, critical care, or general medical-surgical settings.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload in a remote environment.
- Excellent patient education and counseling abilities.
- Empathetic and patient-focused approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
- Previous experience in telehealth or telephone triage.
- Certifications in specific areas (e.g., BLS, ACLS, Triage Nurse Certification).
- Familiarity with chronic disease management protocols.
