Job Description

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and motivated Healthcare Data Clerk with a strong medical focus to join our 100% remote team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately entering, verifying, and maintaining sensitive healthcare data, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of patient information. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to upholding strict data privacy standards while working from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately input and update patient demographic, medical history, treatment, and billing information into various healthcare systems.
  • Verify the integrity and accuracy of existing data by performing regular audits and cross-referencing information from multiple sources.
  • Process and manage medical records, claims, and other relevant documents in compliance with established procedures.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and other data privacy policies to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding data discrepancies or workflow improvements.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining digital files for easy retrieval and reference.
  • Perform routine data quality checks and generate reports as needed to ensure data consistency.
  • Adapt to new software and data entry processes as they are introduced.

Required Skills

  • Proven proficiency in data entry with high accuracy and speed.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of basic computer operations and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
  • Basic familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare data concepts.
  • Strong ethical conduct and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in a data entry, administrative, or clerical role within a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems or medical billing software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
