Job Description

Embark on an exciting journey as a Tour Bus Operator with Starline Tours, specializing in immersive tours to America’s most iconic National Parks. Based out of Thousand Oaks, CA, you will be the captain of adventure, safely transporting guests while sharing engaging narratives about the natural wonders, history, and ecology of destinations like Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Zion, and more. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate large passenger coaches safely and efficiently across varied terrains and weather conditions, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle safety and cleanliness.
  • Provide engaging and informative commentary on National Park attractions, history, and local points of interest.
  • Assist passengers with luggage and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the tour.
  • Manage passenger itineraries, schedules, and any on-road issues with professionalism and calm.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs, passenger manifests, and other required documentation.
  • Represent Starline Tours with the highest level of professionalism and customer service.
  • Adhere to all National Park service regulations and environmental guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) endorsement and Air Brake restriction removed.
  • Clean driving record (DMV H-6 printout required).
  • Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screen, and background check.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong navigational abilities and route planning knowledge.
  • Ability to lift and load luggage up to 50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating tour buses, especially in long-haul or scenic routes.
  • Knowledge of National Parks, their history, geology, and wildlife.
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor roadside repairs.
  • Multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Mandarin).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
