Job Description
Are you looking for a new career path with excellent training and the opportunity to gain a valuable qualification? Translink (Ulsterbus) is excited to offer a Trainee Bus Driver position in Lisburn. No previous bus driving experience is required – we provide comprehensive, fully funded training to help you obtain your Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) licence. This is an incredible opportunity for motivated individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe transport of our passengers. Key Responsibilities
- Complete all required training to successfully obtain your PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicle) licence.
- Safely operate a bus on scheduled routes, adhering to timetables and road safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting passengers with enquiries and ensuring a pleasant journey.
- Handle passenger fares and tickets accurately.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure the bus is in safe working order.
- Report any vehicle defects, incidents, or passenger issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and tidy bus interior.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times.
Required Skills
- Full, valid UK driving licence (car licence) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Ability to pass a mandatory medical examination.
- Strong commitment to safety and customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- A professional and positive demeanour.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
- Basic mechanical knowledge or interest in vehicles.
- Geographical knowledge of Lisburn and surrounding areas.
