Job Description
Google LLC is seeking meticulous and detail-oriented individuals for the role of Travel Destination Data Annotator – Online Role. This is a 100% remote position where you will play a crucial part in enhancing the accuracy and richness of Google’s travel-related data. You will be responsible for reviewing, categorizing, and annotating various data points related to travel destinations, points of interest, accommodations, and activities worldwide. Your work will directly contribute to improving user experiences across Google Maps, Google Travel, and other related products, ensuring our users have access to the most precise and up-to-date information for their travel planning. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, a strong understanding of geographical concepts, and the ability to maintain consistency in data quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately annotate and categorize travel-related data, including destinations, attractions, hotels, restaurants, and transportation hubs.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of existing data by comparing it against source materials and established guidelines.
- Identify and correct inconsistencies, errors, or outdated information within the dataset.
- Apply specific labels, tags, and attributes to data points according to detailed project specifications.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews and provide feedback to improve annotation guidelines and processes.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and meet daily/weekly annotation targets.
- Communicate effectively with team leads regarding challenges, ambiguities, or improvements.
Required Skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in using online tools and platforms for data entry and annotation.
- Strong understanding of geographical concepts and global travel destinations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with web browsers and common office software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in data annotation, data entry, or quality assurance roles.
- Familiarity with Google Maps or other mapping applications.
- Passion for travel and knowledge of various travel destinations and cultures.
- Experience with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software or concepts.
- Ability to read and understand information in multiple languages (even basic understanding is a plus).
