Key Responsibilities
- Execute test plans and test cases to identify, reproduce, and report defects in video game software.
- Thoroughly document bugs using established bug tracking systems, providing clear and concise steps for reproduction.
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure a deep understanding of game features and design.
- Provide constructive feedback on game mechanics, usability, and overall player experience.
- Verify bug fixes and ensure the stability and quality of game builds across various platforms.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of game industry trends and best practices in quality assurance.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, sharing progress and roadblocks.
Required Skills
- Profound passion for video games across various genres and platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for inconsistencies or anomalies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate issues clearly.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with various software applications.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Eagerness to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
- Patience and persistence in identifying and reproducing complex issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with different gaming platforms (PC, console, mobile).
- Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
- A foundational understanding of software development lifecycles.
- Experience providing constructive feedback in a collaborative setting.
- Any personal projects or experience in game modification/creation (e.g., modding, game jams).
