Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Warehouse Freight Handler to join our Saint Paul team for an early morning shift, starting at 4:00 AM. In this vital role, you will be responsible for manually loading and unloading freight, scanning packages, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods through our busy distribution center. This is a physically demanding role that requires reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. Key Responsibilities
- Manually load and unload freight, packages, and materials onto and off of trucks and in the warehouse.
- Sort and scan packages accurately using handheld devices.
- Lift, push, and pull packages weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 75 lbs with assistance.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as required (training provided).
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Perform other general warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently from 4:00 AM, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, and carry heavy packages for extended periods.
- Basic literacy and numerical skills to read labels and count packages.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, freight handling, or physically demanding role.
- Experience with pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
