Job Description
UPS is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as a Weekend Freight Handler for a part-time morning shift. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely loading and unloading freight from trailers and containers, ensuring timely processing of packages. This physically demanding position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload packages and freight from trailers and containers.
- Sort and scan packages according to destination or other categories.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks (training provided).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs (32 kg) regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic literacy skills (reading and understanding labels).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or freight handling role.
- Experience operating pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
