Job Description

Are you an experienced Registered Nurse looking to maximize your income while maintaining a flexible schedule? Cambridge Health Alliance is seeking dedicated and skilled ‘Weekend Warrior’ RNs to join our dynamic nursing team. This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care on Saturdays and Sundays, benefiting from premium hourly rates. You will play a critical role in patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaborating with our interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes during weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessments, treatment, medication administration, and wound care, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to interventions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, and other team members to coordinate patient care and address any changes in condition.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, adhering to all safety and infection control policies.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide immediate care as needed.

Required Skills

  • Current Massachusetts RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care nursing experience
  • BLS certification
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • ACLS certification
  • Experience in a similar 'weekend warrior' or part-time premium role
  • Specialty certification relevant to area of practice (e.g., Med-Surg, Critical Care)
