Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented WFH Finance Officer specializing in Payroll & Invoicing to join our remote team. This crucial role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, managing invoicing procedures, and maintaining financial records in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Process and reconcile company invoices, ensuring timely payments and accurate record-keeping.
- Prepare and submit statutory remittances (e.g., EI, CPP, WCB) and tax filings.
- Respond to payroll and invoicing inquiries from employees and vendors in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records and databases.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to payroll and accounts payable/receivable.
- Implement and improve financial processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure seamless information flow.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll and invoicing/accounts payable.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) certification or equivalent.
- Experience working in a large corporate or financial services environment.
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools and virtual team environments.
