Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Retaining Wall Block Carrier. This is a demanding yet rewarding heavy hardscaping labor role crucial to the successful construction of our retaining wall projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of heavy landscaping blocks and materials across various job sites. This role requires significant physical stamina, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively as part of a dedicated team. Safety training and all necessary equipment will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport heavy retaining wall blocks, rocks, and other landscaping materials across job sites, often manually.
- Assist skilled hardscapers and landscapers with the setup, execution, and cleanup of various projects.
- Prepare work areas by clearing debris, leveling ground, and spreading aggregates as directed.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met.
Required Skills
- Exceptional physical stamina and strength, with the ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50kg) repeatedly throughout a workday.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong commitment to attendance.
- A diligent and positive work ethic, even in challenging conditions.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong attention to safety protocols and a willingness to learn and apply new safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physical labor role, construction, or landscaping.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
- Valid UK driving license and access to reliable transportation.
