Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven AI Ethics Intern with a strong background in social science and research to join our innovative team in Zephyrhills, Florida. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the forefront of AI ethics. You will work alongside leading experts to analyze the societal implications of AI technologies, develop frameworks for ethical AI deployment, and contribute to research publications. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates eager to apply their social science knowledge to real-world technological challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research on AI ethics, fairness, accountability, transparency, and related social science topics.
  • Assist in the design and execution of qualitative and quantitative research studies related to human-AI interaction and ethical considerations.
  • Analyze data to identify biases, societal impacts, and ethical dilemmas in AI systems and their applications.
  • Contribute to the development of ethical guidelines, frameworks, and best practices for AI development and deployment.
  • Prepare research findings, reports, and presentations for internal stakeholders and potential external publication.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including AI engineers, data scientists, and ethicists.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and brainstorming sessions to drive ethical considerations into AI projects.

Required Skills

  • Strong background in a social science discipline (e.g., Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology, Political Science, Ethics).
  • Demonstrated experience with qualitative and/or quantitative research methodologies.
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with foundational concepts in AI and machine learning, even if non-technical.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrollment in or recent graduation from a Master's or Ph.D. program in a relevant social science field.
  • Previous experience in research settings or projects focused on technology ethics, privacy, or societal impact.
  • Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS) or data analysis tools.
  • Experience with academic writing and preparing research manuscripts.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and ethical standards related to data and AI.
