Job Description
Join Walmart’s dynamic warehouse team as a Carpet Roll Mover! This essential heavy lifting role is critical to our supply chain operations, ensuring that carpet rolls and other large, heavy items are moved efficiently and safely throughout our distribution center. You will be responsible for the physical handling, sorting, and organization of inventory, contributing directly to the timely delivery of products to our stores and customers. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are physically capable, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining a safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually lift, push, pull, and maneuver large and heavy carpet rolls and other merchandise, often exceeding 75 pounds.
- Safely transport items using appropriate equipment such as dollies, hand trucks, or pallet jacks.
- Load and unload trucks and containers with inbound and outbound freight.
- Organize and stack products in designated warehouse locations according to company standards.
- Inspect products for damage and report any discrepancies or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and procedures to prevent injuries and maintain a secure working environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily productivity goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the work area.
- Operate warehouse equipment as needed and after proper training.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently lift and move heavy objects (up to 75+ lbs) repetitively for extended periods.
- Physical stamina and endurance to perform demanding tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or heavy labor environment.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
