Job Description
Join the Electronic Arts (EA Sports) team in Wesley Chapel, FL, a rapidly expanding region within Florida’s tech landscape, for an exciting opportunity as a Quality Assurance Tester. While the title reflects a focus on growth and tech, this role is integral to our local operations, contributing to the quality of world-class sports titles. Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive test plans and procedures to identify software defects and inconsistencies in pre-release game titles.
- Accurately document, report, and track bugs using designated bug tracking software, ensuring clear and concise reproduction steps.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, designers, and producers to understand game features and provide timely feedback.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, compatibility, and usability testing across multiple platforms.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide objective qualitative and quantitative feedback on game features, balance, and overall player experience.
- Stay updated with industry trends, best practices in QA, and new testing tools/technologies.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within the video game industry.
- Strong understanding of game development cycles and QA methodologies.
- Proficiency with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla) and test case management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving abilities.
- Passion for video games and familiarity with various gaming genres and platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated testing tools and scripting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
- Familiarity with EA Sports titles and sports gaming.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
