Job Description
Are you a creative aspiring video editor with a passion for short-form content and a keen eye for what makes a video go viral? Netflix is seeking a Junior Video Editor to join our dynamic social media content team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming our vast library of captivating shows and movies into engaging Reels, Shorts, and other bite-sized video formats for various social platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with foundational editing skills and a fresh perspective to contribute directly to how Netflix connects with its audience worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit compelling short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts, etc.) from existing Netflix content for social media platforms.
- Collaborate with content strategists and marketing teams to understand campaign goals and target audiences.
- Incorporate on-screen text, trending audio, and motion graphics to enhance engagement and shareability.
- Manage project timelines, ensuring timely delivery of all assigned video assets.
- Maintain brand consistency and adhere to Netflix's creative guidelines.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions for new content ideas and formats.
- Keep up-to-date with current social media trends, editing techniques, and platform best practices.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Basic understanding of motion graphics and visual effects.
- Strong sense of pacing, timing, and storytelling in short-form video.
- Familiarity with various social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and their content requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A portfolio showcasing personal or professional short-form video editing work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, Communications, or a related field.
- Experience with Adobe After Effects or other motion graphics tools.
- Knowledge of digital asset management systems.
- Prior experience in social media content creation or marketing.
