Job Description
We are immediately seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Rapid Response Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Urgent Care team in Irving, TX. This critical role demands a professional capable of quickly assessing and intervening in acute patient situations within a fast-paced urgent care environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to patient safety and care. You will be instrumental in managing emergent situations, providing high-quality nursing care, and ensuring seamless patient flow. Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid assessment and stabilization of patients presenting with acute symptoms or emergencies in an urgent care setting.
- Administer medications, IVs, and other treatments as prescribed by urgent care providers.
- Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and responses to interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, PAs, MAs, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
- Document all patient care accurately and comprehensively in the electronic health record.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and urgent care policies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including proper equipment handling and infection control.
Required Skills
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
- BLS and ACLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an emergency room, urgent care, or critical care setting.
- Demonstrated ability to perform rapid patient assessment and prioritize interventions.
- Proficiency in IV insertion, phlebotomy, and medication administration.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- CEN or CPEN certification.
- PALS certification.
- Experience with electronic health record systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
- Prior experience in a rapid response or triage role.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
