Job Description

BrightStar Care is seeking an In-Home Care Assistant to join our growing team in Ballantyne, Charlotte, NC. As an In-Home Care Assistant, you will provide essential care and support to clients in their homes, helping them maintain their independence and enjoy a higher quality of life. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, empathetic, and possess a genuine desire to help others.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying living areas.
- Help with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety and comfort.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with self-administration as needed.
- Engage clients in conversation, companionship, and stimulating activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings as requested.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including health and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and patience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to assist clients with mobility and perform light household duties.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a caregiver, CNA, or in a related healthcare field.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program.
