Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Junior Xbox UI Designer to join our dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, focusing specifically on the player interface for Xbox. You will work closely with senior designers, engineers, and product managers to create intuitive, engaging, and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance the gaming experience. Your primary focus will be on the player-facing elements, ensuring seamless navigation, clear information architecture, and an immersive user journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and iteration of user interface elements for Xbox applications and games, with a strong emphasis on player-facing features.
- Collaborate with senior designers to translate user requirements and game design principles into functional and attractive UI mockups and prototypes.
- Contribute to the creation of wireframes, storyboards, user flows, and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Participate in user research and usability testing, gathering feedback to inform design improvements.
- Maintain consistency with existing Xbox UI guidelines and design systems.
- Prepare design assets for implementation and work closely with engineering teams to ensure accurate visual and functional integration.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends, gaming technologies, and competitor products.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in UI design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar.
- Understanding of fundamental UI/UX principles, including information architecture, usability, and accessibility.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design principles (layout, typography, color theory).
- Ability to create clear and concise wireframes and mockups.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- A portfolio demonstrating an interest in UI design, even if from personal projects or academic work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with game development software or engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine).
- Familiarity with the Xbox ecosystem and gaming community.
- Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience with motion graphics or animation for UI elements.
