Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Beauty Editor Assistant to join our dynamic digital content team. This entry-level role is perfect for an aspiring beauty writer with a passion for all things beauty, a keen eye for detail, and excellent organizational skills. You will support the Beauty Editor in creating engaging and informative digital content across our platforms, including our blog, social media, and product descriptions, helping to shape our editorial voice and connect with our audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Beauty Editor in researching and pitching beauty content ideas aligned with trends, product launches, and editorial calendar.
- Draft, edit, and proofread articles, blog posts, product descriptions, and social media captions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand voice.
- Conduct product testing and ingredient research, providing concise and compelling summaries.
- Support with content planning, scheduling, and publication processes.
- Organize and maintain content assets, including images, videos, and product samples.
- Liaise with PR agencies for product samples, press releases, and expert interviews.
- Monitor industry news, competitor content, and emerging beauty trends.
- Assist in analyzing content performance and identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Perform general administrative tasks to support the editorial team.
Required Skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrable passion for beauty, skincare, makeup, and wellness.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of SEO principles for content creation.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Previous experience (even unpaid/internship) in beauty writing, editorial, or digital content creation.
- Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and digital publishing tools.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and their role in content distribution.
