Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior UI/UX Researcher for a student placement in our Kingston upon Hull office. This is an incredible opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in user research methodologies, contribute to real-world projects, and work alongside experienced professionals at one of the world’s leading technology companies. You will assist in planning, conducting, and analyzing user research to inform the design and development of our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and moderation of user interviews, usability tests, and other research activities.
  • Help with data collection, including note-taking, recording observations, and organizing research materials.
  • Contribute to the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, identifying key insights and user pain points.
  • Support the creation of research reports, presentations, and other deliverables to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and engineers to ensure research insights are integrated into product development.
  • Learn and apply various research methodologies under the guidance of senior researchers.
  • Maintain organized research documentation and participant databases.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in HCI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology, Design, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with basic user research principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar productivity tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous coursework or projects related to UI/UX design or research.
  • Experience with data analysis tools or statistical software.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research software (e.g., NVivo, Atlas.ti).
  • A portfolio demonstrating an interest in user-centered design or research.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to innovative technology.
