Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused Industrial Electrician to join our dynamic team in Norfolk, Virginia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within our fast-paced industrial logistics environment. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of our advanced machinery and infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and components, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic testing on industrial machinery, control systems, and facility electrical infrastructure.
- Execute preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
- Read and accurately interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, policies, and industry best practices (e.g., Lockout/Tagout procedures).
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide efficient, effective repairs.
- Maintain meticulous records of all maintenance, repair activities, and parts inventory.
- Collaborate with other maintenance and operations teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in industrial electrical systems, ranging from 24VDC to 480VAC.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities, with a strong analytical approach to problem-solving.
- Extensive experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and relevant safety standards.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a valued member of a team.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree or higher in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
- Prior experience working in a large-scale logistics, warehousing, or distribution center environment.
- Experience with automated material handling systems (conveyors, sorters, AS/RS).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
