Job Description
Are you a master of DIY projects with a passion for creating engaging content that inspires? Do you spend hours curating boards on Pinterest and bringing those ideas to life? We’re looking for a talented DIY Content Editor to join our dynamic team. This 100% remote role involves shaping and refining written and visual content focused on home improvement and crafting projects, ensuring it aligns with our brand voice, aesthetic, and instructional clarity. You will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality, actionable content that empowers our audience to tackle their next project with confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit, proofread, and fact-check DIY articles, tutorials, and project guides.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand style guidelines, tone, and SEO best practices.
- Collaborate with writers, photographers, and videographers to optimize content for various platforms, especially Pinterest.
- Develop and suggest new content ideas based on trends, user engagement, and seasonal themes.
- Manage content calendars and publishing schedules.
- Conduct research to ensure accuracy and completeness of DIY instructions and material lists.
- Provide constructive feedback to content creators to improve quality and consistency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in content editing, preferably in DIY, home improvement, or lifestyle categories.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles for content optimization.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS).
- Keen eye for detail, grammar, spelling, and factual accuracy.
- Demonstrable passion for DIY projects and familiarity with current trends on platforms like Pinterest.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
