Job Description

Join Duolingo as a Language Learning App Validator and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of our language-learning platform. This 100% remote position is perfect for detail-oriented individuals with a passion for languages and technology. You will be responsible for testing new features, identifying bugs, and providing constructive feedback to improve the user experience across all our language courses. Your insights will directly impact millions of learners globally, helping us maintain our high standards of educational excellence and user satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

  • Test new features, content, and bug fixes across various language courses and platform functionalities.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using internal tools.
  • Provide detailed, actionable feedback on user interface, user experience, and linguistic accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and content creators to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Verify the correct implementation of linguistic rules, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes.

Required Skills

  • Fluency in English and at least one other language (written and spoken)
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Excellent written communication skills for bug reporting and feedback
  • Proficiency with mobile applications and web platforms
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting
  • Basic understanding of software testing principles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in QA, linguistic validation, or content testing
  • Proficiency in multiple languages beyond English
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira)
  • Background in linguistics, translation, or language education
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
