Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group support to individuals with autism in various settings (home, community, educational).
- Assist individuals in developing daily living skills, social communication, and emotional regulation.
- Implement individualized support plans and behavioral strategies under professional guidance.
- Facilitate engagement in recreational, educational, and vocational activities.
- Monitor and record progress, maintaining accurate and confidential client documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, and other professionals.
- Promote independence, dignity, and inclusion for all individuals supported.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment at all times.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent (NQF Level 4)
- Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.
- Willingness to undergo and commit to comprehensive training in autism support principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transport.
- Previous experience (paid or voluntary) working with individuals with disabilities, especially autism.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR).
- Completed a relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, education, or a related field (NQF Level 5 or higher).
