Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and dedicated Inventory Associate to join our team in South Gate, California. This Full-time role demands exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in managing our inventory. You will be instrumental in ensuring the precise tracking, organization, and availability of goods within our fast-paced distribution center, directly contributing to our operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This is an on-site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate cycle counts and physical inventories of all warehouse items.
- Maintain meticulous records of inventory levels, locations, and movements using our inventory management system.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move and store inventory (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Generate regular inventory reports for management review.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with receiving and shipping tasks as needed to maintain inventory integrity.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a similar logistical role.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and data entry.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) or willingness to be certified.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to reconcile discrepancies.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience with FedEx or in the shipping/logistics industry.
- Certification in forklift operation.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
