Job Description
Are you a recent CDL School Graduate eager to start your career on the road? Schneider is looking for highly motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our team as an Entry-Level Truck Driver. Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport goods over designated routes, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs and records of driving activities.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
- Manage loading and unloading procedures when required, ensuring proper securement of freight.
- Represent Schneider with professionalism and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
- Completion of an accredited CDL training program
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
- Ability to operate a manual transmission (preferred, training available)
Preferred Qualifications
- Tanker endorsement
- HAZMAT endorsement
- Strong geographical knowledge of the continental US
- Prior experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
