Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Spa Laundry Specialist to join our team at Fairmont Banff Springs. This role is crucial to the smooth operation of our luxurious spa, ensuring a continuous supply of clean, fresh linens and towels for our guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of laundry processing, from sorting and washing to drying, folding, and distributing. This is a routine task-focused position with no direct customer interaction, ideal for an individual who values precision, cleanliness, and working independently within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial laundry equipment including washers, dryers, and irons.
- Sort laundry by type, color, and degree of soiling.
- Load and unload laundry machines following established procedures.
- Measure and add appropriate detergents, softeners, and other laundry chemicals.
- Inspect linens for stains, damage, and wear, reporting as necessary.
- Fold, stack, and organize clean laundry efficiently and neatly.
- Transport clean linens to designated storage areas and spa treatment rooms.
- Maintain a clean and organized laundry area, including equipment and surrounding workspaces.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts of laundry supplies as required.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with precision and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of laundry processes and equipment operation.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift, push, and pull laundry bins.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a commercial laundry or hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of various fabric types and appropriate laundering techniques.
