Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable individual to join our team as an Airplane Cabin Trash Collector. This vital role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of aircraft cabins, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for passengers. The successful candidate will work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced airport environment, adhering strictly to all security and safety protocols. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain full airport security clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect and dispose of all trash, waste, and refuse from aircraft cabins between flights.
- Sort recyclable materials from general waste as per company and airport guidelines.
- Ensure all galley areas, passenger seating areas, and lavatories are clear of debris.
- Operate specialized cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Adhere to strict timelines to ensure quick turnarounds for departing flights.
- Follow all airport security procedures and regulations, including maintaining airport security clearance.
- Report any unusual findings or security concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Work collaboratively with other ground handling and cleaning staff to achieve operational goals.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain full airport security clearance, requiring a clean background check.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to work efficiently and quickly in a time-sensitive environment.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 25 kg, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Basic understanding of English for safety and communication purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a cleaning or janitorial role, preferably in an airport or similar fast-paced environment.
- Experience working within a regulated or security-focused industry.
- A valid UK driving license with access to own transport due to shift patterns and airport location.
