Job Description
Join Schneider as a Tractor Trailer Operator on our regional routes, where you’ll be an essential part of our dedicated transportation network. We are seeking experienced and safety-conscious drivers to operate tractor-trailers, ensuring the timely and secure delivery of goods across the region. This full-time position offers predictable schedules, allowing for more home time, and comprehensive benefits including medical and dental coverage from day one. Key Responsibilities
- Operate a tractor-trailer safely and efficiently over regional routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment according to company and DOT standards.
- Secure cargo safely and correctly, adhering to all regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and all other required documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatch, logistics teams, and customers.
- Perform minor roadside adjustments or maintenance tasks as needed to ensure operational readiness.
- Represent Schneider with professionalism and a positive attitude to clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Minimum 2 years (24 months) of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Ability to successfully pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Proficiency and experience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and adherence to all traffic laws.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialized freight, such as temperature-controlled or hazardous materials.
- Forklift certification or prior experience with other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with regional routes and geography within Southern California.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
