Job Description

Join Canadian Tire Auto Service as a Mobile Car Battery Service Technician. In this vital role, you will be the face of our mobile service, travelling directly to customer locations in Dartmouth and surrounding areas to diagnose battery issues, perform replacements, and conduct basic electrical system checks. This position requires strong technical skills, a commitment to customer satisfaction, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, field-based environment. Leverage your expertise to provide convenient and essential automotive care directly to our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer residences or workplaces to diagnose car battery issues using specialized diagnostic tools.
  • Perform on-site battery testing, replacement, and installation for a variety of vehicle makes and models.
  • Conduct basic electrical system checks to ensure proper battery function and identify potential related problems.
  • Provide clear explanations of services rendered, diagnostic findings, and recommendations to customers.
  • Maintain accurate service records, inventory of parts, and complete necessary documentation.
  • Operate and maintain a company service vehicle safely and efficiently.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during service calls.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive repair or mobile service, specifically with vehicle electrical systems and batteries.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficiency in using automotive diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong understanding of 12V automotive electrical systems.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a mobile schedule effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive Service Technician (AST) certification or equivalent provincial certification.
  • Experience with various battery types (e.g., AGM, EFB) and hybrid/EV basic battery systems.
  • Familiarity with Canadian Tire's automotive product lines and service standards.
