Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acoustic Consultant to join our dynamic engineering team in Pasco, WA. This role is crucial for delivering specialized acoustic expertise across a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial developments, industrial facilities, transportation infrastructure, and environmental assessments. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive acoustic analyses, developing innovative noise control strategies, and ensuring compliance with national and international acoustic standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed acoustic measurements, monitoring, and site surveys to assess existing noise and vibration levels.
  • Perform advanced acoustic modeling and simulations using specialized software (e.g., CadnaA, Odeon, EASE) to predict noise propagation and assess impact.
  • Develop practical and cost-effective noise and vibration control solutions for a variety of project types.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, impact assessments, and presentations for clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, architects, planners, and project managers to integrate acoustic considerations into project designs.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on acoustic design, regulatory compliance, and mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and changes in acoustic regulations and standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in acoustic consulting or a related field.
  • Proficiency with acoustic measurement equipment and data analysis techniques.
  • Expertise in acoustic modeling software (e.g., CadnaA, Odeon, EASE, SoundPLAN).
  • Strong understanding of national and international acoustic standards and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Acoustics or a related engineering discipline.
  • Professional certification such as Board Certification from the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE).
  • Experience with environmental noise assessments, industrial noise control, or architectural acoustics.
  • Familiarity with programming languages for data processing and analysis (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
  • Client-facing experience and a track record of successful project delivery.
