Job Description
Mercy Health is seeking dedicated and compassionate Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our growing home care team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity to provide essential, one-on-one care to clients in their homes, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with self-administration of medications.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and tidying living areas.
- Assist with safe client transfers and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Monitor and report changes in client's health status or behavior to the supervising nurse.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner according to agency policies.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for clients.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program and competency evaluation.
- Current HHA certification in Ohio.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and compassion for clients.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with current auto insurance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency procedures.
