Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Instrument Sales Representative to join our dynamic sales team. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for driving sales of our cutting-edge scientific instruments within the assigned territory, focusing on Gilbert, Arizona, and surrounding areas. This position offers a competitive base salary coupled with a robust commission structure, rewarding your success in building strong customer relationships and achieving sales targets. You will work closely with research institutions, academic labs, biotechnology companies, and clinical facilities to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions using our extensive product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed sales targets for assigned instrument product lines.
  • Identify, qualify, and cultivate new sales opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and lead follow-up.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing exceptional service.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, presentations, and technical discussions with customers, both in-person and virtually.
  • Negotiate contracts and close sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to company policies.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, territory analysis, and competitive intelligence to management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, technical support, and product management, to optimize sales efforts.
  • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and sales meetings as required.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product features, applications, and competitive landscape.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering) or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of successful sales experience, preferably in scientific instruments, medical devices, or capital equipment.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales quotas.
  • Strong understanding of the sales cycle and solution-selling methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field.
  • Prior experience selling to academic, biotech, or clinical research accounts.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex scientific applications and articulate technical solutions.
  • Experience with strategic account management and complex sales negotiations.
