Job Description

Join Eventbrite as a Part-time Virtual Host, specializing in weekend webinars and online events. In this essential role, you will be the friendly and professional face of our virtual gatherings, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all attendees and presenters. This position requires a tech-savvy individual with excellent communication skills who thrives in a dynamic online environment. You will be responsible for managing the technical flow of virtual events, interacting with participants, and providing essential support to make every webinar a success. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to contribute from anywhere while focusing on our vibrant weekend schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary host and moderator for virtual webinars and online events, primarily on weekends.
  • Conduct pre-event technical checks with presenters and ensure all audio/visual components are functioning correctly.
  • Welcome attendees, provide event instructions, and manage interactive elements like Q&A sessions and polls.
  • Monitor chat, respond to participant inquiries, and escalate technical issues to support as needed.
  • Introduce speakers, manage presentation transitions, and ensure adherence to the event schedule.
  • Provide basic technical troubleshooting for common virtual platform issues for attendees and presenters.
  • Compile post-event reports, including attendee feedback and engagement metrics.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with virtual event platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webex).
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new software.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a professional home office setup.
  • Ability to remain calm and problem-solve effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability to work consistent weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a virtual host, moderator, or event coordinator.
  • Background in customer service or public speaking.
  • Familiarity with Eventbrite's platform and its virtual event integrations.
  • Experience in online education or training environments.
