Job Description
We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Car Haulers to join our growing team in Pasco, WA. This is an exceptional opportunity for professional drivers who excel in vehicle transportation and are looking for a role with high percentage pay and comprehensive benefits. As a Car Hauler with Jack Cooper Transport, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient pickup and delivery of new and pre-owned vehicles using multi-car trailers. We are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a proven track record in automotive logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, secure, and unload multiple vehicles onto and off multi-car transporters.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations.
- Transport vehicles to various destinations, adhering to scheduled delivery times.
- Maintain accurate records of all loads, deliveries, and vehicle conditions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Handle vehicles with extreme care to prevent damage during transport.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable car hauling experience on an 8-car or 10-car stinger or high mount trailer.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate manual and automatic transmissions.
- Proficiency in securing diverse vehicle types (sedans, SUVs, trucks).
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and ELD compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading vehicles, including climbing and securing straps.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with various types of car-hauling equipment and configurations.
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems.
- Proven track record of safe driving and on-time deliveries.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
