Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Street Sweeper / Cleaner to join our local council support team. This stable role is crucial for maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of our streets, pavements, and public areas within the Heartsease district and wider Norwich region. You will be responsible for operating cleaning equipment, collecting litter, and ensuring public spaces are kept to high standards of hygiene and presentation. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate street sweeping and cleaning equipment, including mechanical sweepers and litter vacuums, safely and efficiently.
  • Perform manual litter picking, sweeping, and removal of debris from streets, pavements, and public areas.
  • Empty public litter bins and transport waste to designated disposal points.
  • Identify and report areas requiring more extensive cleaning, maintenance, or repair.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness of council equipment and vehicles.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve daily cleaning targets.
