Job Description
Are you an experienced Pharmacy Technician looking to take the next step in your career? CVS Health is seeking a motivated and skilled Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team in Dallas. This role presents a unique management opportunity, allowing you to not only utilize your technical expertise but also develop leadership skills by guiding and mentoring a team of pharmacy technicians. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient pharmacy operations, maintaining high standards of patient care, and supporting the Pharmacy Manager in daily tasks. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate the daily activities of pharmacy technicians, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to operational standards.
- Train new pharmacy technicians and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to foster a high-performing team.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in scheduling, performance reviews, and other administrative tasks.
- Ensure accurate and timely dispensing of medications, compounding, and sterile product preparation.
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications, and identifying expired or damaged products.
- Resolve customer service issues and complex pharmacy challenges with professionalism and efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as CVS Health policies and procedures.
- Process prescription orders, manage insurance claims, and handle patient billing inquiries.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment focused on patient safety and satisfaction.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Current state Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Texas.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (e.g., PTCB or NHA).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a retail or hospital setting.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior team members.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role within a pharmacy.
- Experience with advanced pharmacy services such as immunizations or medication therapy management support.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.
