Job Description
Are you a responsible 13-year-old looking for a fun and easy way to earn some pocket money and help out your neighbors? Pasco Community Helpers is seeking enthusiastic teens to join our Neighborhood Helper program! This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to your community, learn new skills, and make a positive impact, all without the pressure of a traditional job. We’re looking for individuals who are friendly, reliable, and eager to assist with simple household and yard chores. No experience necessary – just a willingness to learn and a positive attitude!
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting neighbors with light yard work, such as watering plants, raking leaves, or weeding small gardens.
- Helping with simple household tasks like taking out trash/recycling bins, collecting mail, or pet feeding.
- Running small errands within the neighborhood (e.g., walking to a nearby convenience store for an item).
- Providing companionship or simple assistance to elderly neighbors (e.g., reading a newspaper aloud, light tidying).
- Maintaining a friendly and respectful demeanor with all neighbors and community members.
- Communicating effectively with program coordinators and neighbors about task completion and availability.
Required Skills
- Age 13 years old.
- Ability to follow simple instructions.
- Punctuality and reliability.
- A positive and helpful attitude.
- Basic communication skills.
- Residency within the Pasco Community Helpers service area (New Port Richey).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience helping with chores at home or for family friends.
- Enjoys outdoor activities and light physical work.
- Interest in community service and helping others.
