Job Description
Walgreens is seeking a dedicated and efficient Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to join our bustling retail pharmacy in San Francisco. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Process prescription orders, including data entry, insurance claim processing, and resolving basic billing issues.
- Assist patients with prescription pick-up, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all legal and company policies.
- Handle cash register transactions and manage customer payments.
- Communicate effectively with pharmacists, other healthcare professionals, and patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient pharmacy operations.
Required Skills
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT certification preferred).
- Minimum 18 months of experience in a retail or outpatient pharmacy setting.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and computer applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated dispensing systems.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish or Mandarin) to serve our diverse community.
- Advanced knowledge of common pharmacy calculations and drug classifications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative.
