Job Description

Scotiabank is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Receptionist / Front Desk professional to join our team in Guelph. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with no prior experience who possess a positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn. You will be the first point of contact for our clients and visitors, playing a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient atmosphere. We provide comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this vital role.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and welcome clients and visitors as they arrive, providing a positive first impression.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, taking messages when necessary.
- Manage the reception area, ensuring it remains tidy, presentable, and well-stocked with necessary materials.
- Sort and distribute incoming mail and packages, and prepare outgoing mail.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing meeting room bookings.
- Provide administrative support to various departments, including data entry, filing, and photocopying.
- Maintain security by following procedures, monitoring logbook, and issuing visitor badges.
- Handle basic customer inquiries and direct more complex issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Uphold a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Required Skills

- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
