Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Truck Rental Counter Agent in Huntsville, AL. In this vital customer service role, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, assisting them with their truck rental needs from reservation to return. You will play a crucial part in ensuring a smooth, efficient, and friendly rental experience, upholding Penske’s commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with truck and trailer rentals, explaining terms, conditions, and pricing.
- Process rental agreements accurately, collect payments, manage reservations, and update customer accounts using our system.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections (pre and post-rental) to document condition, mileage, and fuel levels, noting any damage.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Promote additional rental products, services, and insurance options as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional rental counter and lobby area.
- Perform administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and managing rental paperwork.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure vehicles are ready for rental and address any mechanical concerns.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong customer service orientation.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications and the ability to quickly learn new software systems.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and inspections.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize duties.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform light physical tasks such as checking fluid levels or moving equipment.
