Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forklift Operator II to join our dynamic distribution team in Wesley Chapel, FL. As an Experienced Hire, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth and efficient flow of products within our warehouse and distribution center. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations, a commitment to safety, and proficiency in operating various types of forklifts. You will be responsible for loading, unloading, stacking, and moving materials using a forklift, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all company safety protocols and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently, including sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks, and order pickers, to move, stack, and retrieve products.
- Load and unload trailers and delivery trucks, ensuring proper documentation and cargo securement.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse, including storage racks, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve operational challenges.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and logs related to material movement and inventory management.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience operating forklifts in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
- Proven proficiency with multiple types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, order picker).
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to perform pre-operation checks and basic maintenance on equipment.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification from an accredited institution.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as SAP or Oracle.
- Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures.
- Previous experience in a grocery or food distribution setting.
