Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apple Database Developer with a strong focus on SQL and Big Data technologies. This fully remote role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust database solutions that support critical applications and data initiatives within an Apple-centric environment. You will be instrumental in optimizing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and implementing scalable Big Data architectures to handle vast datasets. If you have a passion for data, expertise in SQL, and experience with modern Big Data platforms, along with an understanding of data ecosystems often found in Apple-focused development, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance SQL databases and data warehouses, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Implement and manage Big Data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, or similar distributed systems.
- Optimize database queries, stored procedures, and overall schema for maximum efficiency and throughput.
- Collaborate with application developers and data scientists to understand data requirements and translate them into robust database designs.
- Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Perform routine database administration tasks including backups, recovery, and performance monitoring.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and strategic planning for data infrastructure, particularly in environments supporting Apple applications or platforms.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, providing expert support as needed.
Required Skills
- Expertise in SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server)
- Strong experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, Hive, Kafka)
- Proficiency in database design, data modeling, and normalization techniques
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
- Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL, Snowflake)
- Scripting skills (Python, Shell)
- Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles
- Experience working in an Agile development environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Familiarity with Apple's data ecosystem, iCloud, or related technologies
- Certifications in relevant database or Big Data platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Database Specialty, Cloudera Certified Professional)
