Job Description
Join the XPO Logistics team as an Early Morning Warehouse Freight Handler in New Port Richey, FL. This vital role involves the safe and efficient movement of freight within our warehouse and on and off trailers, ensuring that goods are prepared for timely distribution. You’ll be part of a fast-paced environment, working collaboratively to meet daily operational goals. This shift begins at 4:00 AM, making it ideal for early risers who thrive in a structured, productive setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently from trailers using various material handling equipment.
- Sort, stack, and stage freight in designated areas according to company procedures.
- Verify freight counts and check for damages, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and operational efficiency.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to support warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic math skills for freight counting and verification.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality are critical for this early morning shift.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or freight handling role.
- Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment (certification a plus).
