Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Compliance Officer / AML Manager to join our dynamic team in Spokane, WA. This critical role is responsible for overseeing and managing the firm’s compliance programs, with a strong focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations. The successful candidate will ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, mitigating risk and protecting the firm’s integrity. This position requires a proactive individual with a deep understanding of financial regulatory landscapes and a commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company's compliance policies and procedures, with a specific focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update internal policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with global and local requirements.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance audits to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage and respond to regulatory inquiries, examinations, and internal audits, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
- Provide comprehensive compliance training to employees at all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of compliance.
- Oversee the identification, investigation, and reporting of suspicious activities to relevant authorities (SARs).
- Collaborate closely with legal, risk management, and various business units to integrate compliance requirements into daily operations and new product development.
- Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues, incidents, and breaches, documenting findings and implementing preventative measures.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in compliance, AML, or a related regulatory function within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of global AML/CTF regulations (e.g., BSA, Patriot Act, FATF recommendations, OFAC sanctions).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in compliance software, case management systems, and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ACAMS (Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists) certification or equivalent compliance certification.
- Master's degree or Juris Doctor (JD).
- Experience with international financial regulations and cross-border transactions.
- Proven experience managing a team or leading significant compliance projects and initiatives.
