Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for an exciting new opportunity? Hilton Hotels & Resorts in Cardiff Bay is seeking a dedicated and reliable Night Porter to join our team. This is an entry-level position perfect for individuals with no prior experience in hospitality. We believe in nurturing talent, and comprehensive training and a certificate upon completion will be provided to help you excel in your role. As a Night Porter, you will be the face of our hotel during the quiet hours, ensuring the safety, comfort, and satisfaction of our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular security checks and patrols throughout the hotel premises.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest inquiries and requests, including late check-ins/check-outs.
- Assist guests with luggage and other needs, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Handle minor maintenance issues or report significant concerns to appropriate departments.
- Prepare meeting rooms or public areas for the following day as required.
- Manage and reconcile night audit reports and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in all public areas.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong sense of responsibility and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks (e.g., lifting luggage) when necessary.
- Must be eligible to work night shifts and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service role is a plus, but not essential.
- First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A genuine passion for providing excellent guest service.
