Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Hotel Porter to join our esteemed team. As a Porter, you will be the first point of contact for many of our guests, providing a warm welcome and efficient assistance with their luggage and transportation needs. This crucial role requires a strong commitment to guest satisfaction, a meticulous eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced luxury environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet all arriving and departing guests, opening doors and assisting with luggage.
  • Efficiently transport guest luggage to and from rooms upon arrival and departure.
  • Assist guests with directions, local recommendations, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas.
  • Coordinate with the front desk and concierge to ensure seamless guest service.
  • Handle guest requests promptly and courteously, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of all luggage, packages, and deliveries.
  • Assist with valet parking operations as needed, ensuring vehicles are handled with care.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to lift and carry heavy luggage (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, professional, and friendly demeanor.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional guest service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
  • Knowledge of the local Cambridge/Boston area attractions and amenities.
  • Basic computer proficiency for logging guest requests and information.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
