Job Description
Join our vibrant team as a Floral Assistant, an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone passionate about flowers and eager to learn the floral industry. No prior experience is necessary – we will provide comprehensive training. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting our lead florists with various tasks, preparing flowers for arrangements, ensuring the shop is clean and organized, and most importantly, making timely and careful deliveries to our valued customers throughout Oshawa and the surrounding areas. This role is perfect for an enthusiastic individual with a valid driver’s license and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist florists with processing, conditioning, and preparing fresh flowers for arrangements.
- Carefully pack and deliver floral arrangements and gifts to customers in and around Oshawa.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the design studio, retail area, and delivery vehicle.
- Help with inventory management, including stocking supplies and monitoring flower freshness.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service during deliveries and occasionally in-store.
- Support the team with event setup and breakdown as needed.
- Learn and apply basic floral design techniques under supervision.
Required Skills
- Valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 30 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Reliable and punctual.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Oshawa and surrounding road networks.
- A genuine interest in flowers and floral design.
- Previous customer service experience (e.g., retail, hospitality).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
