Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gaming Surveillance Director to lead our surveillance operations in Orillia, Ontario. This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of the surveillance department to ensure the integrity, security, and smooth operation of our gaming activities. The Director will be responsible for developing and implementing surveillance policies and procedures, managing a dedicated team of surveillance officers, and utilizing cutting-edge technology to detect and prevent fraud, theft, and other illicit activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the 24/7 surveillance department, including staffing, training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive surveillance policies, procedures, and internal controls in strict compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor all gaming and non-gaming areas using advanced CCTV systems to detect suspicious activities, policy violations, and potential criminal acts.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents such as fraud, theft, advantage play, internal irregularities, and other security breaches.
  • Collaborate effectively with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies, and internal security teams on investigations and the continuous improvement of security protocols.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports on surveillance activities, incidents, and investigations for presentation to senior management and regulatory agencies.
  • Evaluate and recommend upgrades to surveillance equipment and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and maintain a state-of-the-art surveillance environment.
  • Ensure continuous compliance with all local, provincial, and federal gaming regulations and company policies.
  • Manage the departmental budget and resources efficiently to maximize productivity and cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster a culture of vigilance, integrity, and professionalism within the surveillance team.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in casino surveillance or a related security management role.
  • Strong knowledge of gaming regulations, rules, and procedures specific to the Canadian market.
  • Expertise in operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex CCTV and surveillance systems (e.g., Avigilon, Genetec).
  • Excellent analytical and observational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify anomalies.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and effective under pressure and during critical incidents.
  • Proficiency in report writing, incident documentation, and using relevant software applications.
  • Strong ethical standards, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in surveillance technology, security management (e.g., CPP, PSP), or forensic investigations.
  • Experience with advanced analytics software and artificial intelligence in a gaming surveillance environment.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience in a role involving international sponsorship or relocation.
